About this dive site

This dive site, Lohis, is renowned for its thrilling drift diving experience along a vibrant slope ranging from 5 to 25 meters. Divers will navigate past impressive coral blocks and observe the dynamic underwater topography. Located in the Maldives, it offers a classic Maldivian drift adventure, with the currents guiding explorers along its rich reef.

The site is teeming with diverse marine life, promising sightings of majestic big turtles, graceful grey reef sharks, and magnificent manta rays. The reef top showcases a kaleidoscope of colors with parrotfish, curious napoleon wrasse, various morays often accompanied by cleaner shrimps, and impressive eagle rays. Stingrays are also common, making every dive a photographic opportunity.

Lohis is an excellent dive site year-round, but generally, the dry season (December to May) offers the calmest conditions and best visibility, though manta sightings can be seasonal. Divers should be prepared for moderate currents inherent to a drift dive. For freedivers and snorkelers, the shallower reef top provides an exceptional experience with abundant fish life and corals, making it a versatile destination for all water enthusiasts.
