This dive site, Baby Shark Point, serves as a prominent natural shark nursery and breeding ground, making it a unique and easily accessible shore dive. The underwater navigation is straightforward, beginning with a sandy bottom extending to about 3 meters, which then beautifully transitions into an expansive and vibrant staghorn reef. There is no specific history or story provided for the site other than its function as a natural nursery.
The main attraction here is the presence of juvenile Black Tip reef sharks, which inhabit this protected nursery area. Divers and snorkelers can also expect to encounter common reef fishes such as the distinctive Diamond Fish and playful Juvenile Barracuda swimming among the coral formations. The massive staghorn reef itself provides a diverse habitat for a variety of smaller invertebrates and reef-dwelling organisms.
The dive site is best visited during the dry season (roughly March to October) when visibility is typically at its peak and the sea conditions are calm. It is particularly suitable for new divers due to its shallow depths and easy entry. Freedivers will also find it an excellent location to practice, given its clear waters and abundant marine life close to the surface. It is important to observe marine life respectfully, especially the young sharks.
