This dive site, Yotsushima Jetty, is a unique "Jetty Dive" located near Ruzaoan Island in Japan. Divers access the site via a short 5-minute boat ride from a ferry pier, which offers convenient amenities like parking, water, and flush toilets. The site is characterized by its reef formations around the jetty structure, providing an intriguing underwater environment to explore.
The reefs at Yotsushima Jetty are teeming with abundant marine life, frequently hosting large schools of fish. The site is particularly famous for its resident "stars": Kinjiro, a large Asian sheepshead wrasse, and Hanatare, a red seabream, both known for their charm and size. While specific coral types aren't detailed, the presence of thriving reefs suggests a diverse invertebrate community supporting the rich fish life.
Yotsushima Jetty is a summer-only dive site, open specifically from July to October, offering the best conditions during these warmer months. Its shallow to moderate depths (max 16m, avg 8m) make it excellent for both scuba divers of all levels and freedivers.
