This dive site is Uguru Island, located 23 kilometers off Shukumo city in Japan's Shikoku region. Known for its dynamic underwater terrain and vibrant coral habitats, it offers exceptional visibility, often reaching 50 meters, thanks to the Kuroshio Current. The site provides a diverse diving experience, featuring both large animal encounters and dedicated macro observation spots, making it suitable for divers of all experience levels.
Uguru Island is a thriving ecosystem, home to a wide array of marine life. Divers frequently encounter large migratory species such as bluefin tuna, large yellowtail, yellowtail, and bigeye trevally. The site is also renowned for sightings of majestic manta rays, hammerhead sharks, and a high probability of encountering sea turtles.
