This dive site features the Tyfliss Wreck, a French transport ship resting upright on a 50-meter seabed with its deck at approximately 42 meters. The wreck is notably intact at its stern but shows damage and cracking towards the bow. Divers can explore its interior through two large, open holds, allowing for passage through much of the structure and offering a glimpse into its history as a sunken vessel.
The Tyfliss is teeming with marine life, making it a vibrant underwater ecosystem. Common encounters include octopus, moray eels, and lobsters, often found inhabiting the nooks and crannies of the wreck. Schools of sardines and damselfish frequently form dense clouds around the structure, and there is also a good chance of encountering some larger pelagic species in the open water surrounding the wreck.
While no specific best time to visit is mentioned, wreck dives like the Tyfliss are best enjoyed in calm conditions. Divers should be advanced certified with deep diving experience due to the maximum depth of 48 meters. The site offers excellent opportunities for wide-angle photography of the wreck structure and macro photography of the diverse invertebrate life.
