This dive site, known as Scoglio di Tahiti (but officially Cala Coticcio), offers an easily accessible and beautiful underwater experience. A 10m buoy provides a simple descent onto a wide, shallow reef. The striking contrast between the white sand and the rocky formations creates a stunning visual landscape. The site is relatively shallow, making it ideal for beginners and snorkelers.
Marine life abounds here, with schools of salps and bream creating dynamic underwater scenes. Clouds of colorful damselfish dart among the rocks, while lone barracuda and snapper add a touch of mystery. Deeper down, groupers lurk in their rocky crevices, alongside lobsters, moray eels, and a plethora of nudibranchs providing excellent opportunities for macro photography.
The best time to visit is during the summer months (June-September) when the water is warmest and clearest. Visibility is generally good, and the calm conditions make it perfect for both snorkeling and freediving. Remember to be mindful of the marine life, taking care to observe them from a respectful distance and avoid disturbing their habitat. Enjoy the incredible beauty and tranquility of this unique Sardinian dive site.
