This dive site features three distinct canyons carved by the Astico river along Contrà Pria in Arsiero. Divers can explore the unique geological formations and witness the impressive erosion patterns on the canyon walls, reaching a maximum depth of 9 meters. The underwater landscape offers a fascinating glimpse into the river's active history.
The river is teeming with local freshwater fauna, providing opportunities to observe various fish species. Notable inhabitants include graylings, salmon, trout, and the locally known 'cottus gobio' or Marsoni, adding to the site's ecological interest.
This site is excellent for divers of all levels, especially beginners, due to its shallow depths. It is also highly suitable for snorkelers and freedivers. For best visibility and diving conditions, it's generally advisable to visit during periods of stable weather, avoiding heavy rainfall that can increase turbidity. It offers a unique alternative to typical ocean diving.
