About this dive site

This dive site, Petite Anse in Deshaies, is a beautiful 100-meter-long beach forming a small, calm cove with turquoise waters. It is renowned as one of the best shore snorkeling spots on Basse Terre. Divers can explore the sheltered cove, which is naturally bordered by rocks and shaded by lush vegetation, offering easy navigation in its shallow depths.

The cove hosts a vibrant marine ecosystem. A wide variety of reef fish are commonly observed, darting amongst the rocks and seagrass. Sea turtles are a highlight, frequently spotted feeding on the abundant seagrass beds.

The best time to visit Petite Anse is generally during the dry season (December to May) when weather conditions are most stable, ensuring optimal visibility and calm seas. It is a perfect site for snorkelers and beginner divers due to its shallow, protected nature. Freedivers will also appreciate the clear, calm waters for practice and exploration, with the chance to observe turtles and fish up close.
