This dive site, Vogelstangsee, is a freshwater lake located near Mannheim, Germany, offering convenient access via a gym parking lot. Historically, the lake was home to a large Waller (catfish) nicknamed 'Fritz', reportedly almost 2 meters long.
The lake is teeming with various freshwater fish species, including abundant perch, sunfish, pike, and carp. Tench can also be observed periodically. The impressive Waller (Welz), a European catfish, is a notable inhabitant, with past sightings of individuals reaching significant sizes.
