This dive site, Vogelstangsee, is a freshwater lake located near Mannheim, Germany, offering convenient access via a gym parking lot. Divers can utilize easy changing facilities and two 'paved' entry points for shore entry. The lake is relatively shallow, with an average depth of 4 meters, making navigation straightforward. Historically, the lake was home to a large Waller (catfish) nicknamed 'Fritz', reportedly almost 2 meters long.

The lake is teeming with various freshwater fish species, including abundant perch, sunfish, pike, and carp. Tench can also be observed periodically. The impressive Waller (Welz), a European catfish, is a notable inhabitant, with past sightings of individuals reaching significant sizes.

The best time to visit Vogelstangsee for diving is during the warmer months, when water temperatures are more comfortable and visibility might be at its best.
