This dive site is located in the old quarry lake of Horka, a man-made reservoir that has filled with water over time. It offers an interesting diving experience due to its unique underwater topography – primarily consisting of a rocky basin and vertical walls created by former blasting operations. The quarry’s history as a mining operation is evident through the presence of old equipment and a pump house, adding historical elements to the dive. Divers can also explore submerged objects such as beer benches and cigarette machines, creating an unusual underwater landscape. Visibility in the lake is generally good. The area has been open to diving for some time and benefits from local support through a diving base that operates a modern Bauer filling station. Wildlife sightings have included pike, perch, crabs, and sharks. The shallow areas of the quarry are overgrown with vegetation, providing a contrasting visual element.
