About this dive site

This dive site, Ostseebad, is easily accessible from the shore near the Glücksburg marina. Divers can park in public spaces near the Coffee Restaurant Quellental and choose between two entry points: a diving house or navigation marks. The underwater environment primarily consists of rubble, providing a unique habitat for various marine life. Navigation is straightforward given the shallow depths.

Common marine inhabitants include numerous starfish, various eels, and one or two larger flatfish. The rubble substrate supports a range of smaller organisms, making it an interesting spot for macro observation despite the lack of vibrant coral reefs typical of warmer waters.

Divers should remain vigilant and avoid the eastern end of the pier due to active boat traffic. The best time to visit would likely be during the warmer months to enjoy more comfortable water temperatures. Its shallow nature makes it highly suitable for both snorkeling and freediving, offering easy access for all water enthusiasts.
