This dive site, L'Arche, features a prominent arch located just 3 meters below the surface, spanning over 8 meters in length. This shallow section makes it accessible to freedivers of all skill levels. A nearby tunnel extends to a depth of 7 meters and is 12 meters long, providing an interesting underwater passage. The site is characterized by scree around an islet, creating a diverse underwater landscape.
Marine life at L'Arche includes a variety of common Mediterranean species such as sea bream, octopus, sea bass, salem, and dentex. Pelagic species, including small amberjacks, are occasionally sighted, adding to the site's biodiversity. The varied habitat of the arch, tunnel and surrounding scree provides homes for both small and larger organisms.
The best time to visit L'Arche is likely during the warmer months (May to October) when water temperatures are more comfortable and visibility is typically better. Divers and freedivers should be mindful of the depth, even though the shallow arch allows easier access, the tunnel descends deeper. Always check weather and sea conditions before diving and remember to follow safe diving and freediving practices.
