This dive site, Shaab Sharm, is a prominent feature of the coastal reefs in Marsa Alam, Egypt. Located 12 kilometers offshore, it extends up to 700 meters in length. The reef's steep walls descend dramatically to depths exceeding 200 meters, creating an environment with strong currents that promote abundant coral growth. These conditions occasionally attract larger fish species. Due to the significant current flow and depth, this site is generally not suitable for beginners; some prior diving experience is recommended. Shaab Sharm is frequently visited on diving safaris heading south along the coast and often hosts multiple divers concurrently. Night dives are not permitted at this location.
