This dive site is the house reef of Port Ghalib, offering a diverse range of diving experiences for all skill levels. Beginners can enjoy the shallow, sandy entry and explore the beautiful reef at depths between 5 and 20 meters. More experienced divers can venture to the outer reef, which drops off to depths exceeding 60 meters, providing opportunities for technical dives. A canyon at 45-70 meters further challenges advanced divers.
The marine life is abundant and typical of the Red Sea. You can expect to see a wide variety of fish, including colorful reef fish, turtles, boxfish, and Napoleon wrasse. The reef itself is vibrant and healthy, providing a home to numerous invertebrate species.
The best time to visit is during the warmer months (April to October) when visibility is typically excellent. Divers and freedivers will appreciate the calm waters and mild currents, making this a very accessible and enjoyable dive site. Remember to respect the marine environment and maintain a safe diving distance from all marine life.
