This dive site is located in the south of the Red Sea and features a remarkable house reef, considered one of the richest and most pristine areas. Designated as a protected area for the past 20 years, Marsa Shagra offers exceptional diving opportunities. The reef stretches approximately 2 kilometers from north to south, culminating in a natural, sheltered bay. Access is available via zodiac boats and directly from shore, with zodiac pickup also provided. It’s notable that Robert Meyer, author of Collins guides, has documented at least five endemic species residing within this protected bay. Furthermore, the area occasionally hosts pelagic wildlife such as dolphins and manta rays. The site has been a popular location for underwater photographers seeking images for reef guides like those by Debelius and Collins.
