This dive site offers an incredibly easy shore entrance, situated conveniently on the right-hand side of the pier, directly beneath a car park for effortless access. Divers will find a sandy bottom that gradually transitions into a vibrant coral reef at approximately 5 meters, leading to a distinct drop-off at 10 meters. The reef continues its descent, eventually meeting another sandy bottom at around 35 meters, though the maximum recreational depth is 19 meters.
Marine life here is abundant and varied, making it a rewarding dive for observation. Divers can expect to encounter large schools of snappers, creole wrasse, and Chromis flitting amongst the corals. For those with a keen eye, the site is also home to camouflaged scorpionfish, graceful stingrays gliding over the sand, and elusive octopus hidden within crevices.
Snake Bay is an excellent site for divers of all levels, particularly beginners, due to its shallow depths and protected entry. It's suitable year-round, offering consistent conditions typical of Curaçao. Both snorkelers and freedivers will find the shallow reef and drop-off accessible and enjoyable. Be sure to explore the reef edges and sandy patches for the best chance to spot the diverse array of residents.
