About this dive site

This dive site, known as Playa Piskado or Playa Grandi, is a renowned shore dive in Curaçao. It's famous for its shallow-water marine life, particularly the sea turtles that frequent the pier area for fisherman's leftovers. Underwater, divers can follow the reef out from the shore, reaching a depth of 8 meters where a statue of the sea god Neptune stands, acting as a notable landmark. The site offers a relatively easy navigation experience along a vibrant reef.

Beyond the famous green sea turtles, divers can look for an array of smaller, fascinating creatures such as seahorses and frogfish, indicating rich macro life. The beautiful reef itself supports a diverse ecosystem of hard and soft corals, various reef fish, and other crustaceans, contributing to the site's overall biodiversity and visual variety.

The best time to visit Playa Piskado is generally year-round, given Curaçao's consistent tropical climate, though mornings might be less crowded. It is particularly highlighted for its excellent turtle encounters, making it a must-visit for wildlife enthusiasts. Both scuba divers and freedivers will find the site suitable due to its accessible depths and captivating marine life. Snorkelers can also enjoy the shallow reef and turtle interactions near the pier.
