This dive site, Las Trinias, is an exclusive and pristine coral mountain located near Rincon del Mar, Colombia. It features a unique topography with three prominent points, where healthy coral formations begin at a depth of 15 meters and extend down gently to a maximum of 20 meters. Being a virgin area, it offers an untouched underwater experience, carefully managed by the local dive center, Rincon del Mar.
The vibrant reef system hosts an impressive diversity of marine animals. Divers can expect to encounter various soldierfish, surgeonfish, angelfish, including the majestic queen angels, as well as colorful butterflyfish. The site is also home to elusive moray eels, bustling snappers, territorial groupers, and a full spectrum of small reef minnows. Lionfish are also present, adding to the varied ecosystem.
The best time to visit Las Trinias for diving and freediving is generally during Colombia's dry season, typically from December to April, for optimal conditions and visibility. This site is excellent for both beginner and intermediate divers due to its manageable maximum depth of 20 meters and average depth of 10 meters, offering ample time to explore the rich reef. Snorkelers can also enjoy the shallower parts of the coral mountain and abundant fish life.
