This dive site features the Corveta Camaquã, a historic WWII escort corvette originally designed for mine-laying that protected Brazilian waters. It tragically sank due to bad weather and now rests at a maximum depth of 52 meters. The wreck is a well-preserved structure, lying on its starboard side, offering divers a glimpse into history with intact pieces such as cannons and ammunition.
The Corveta Camaquã is teeming with marine life, attracting many passing animals. Divers can frequently encounter majestic eagle rays and vast schools of various fish species. Sharks are also a common sight, adding to the thrill of this vibrant underwater ecosystem.
While specific seasonal highlights are not provided, the best time to visit would typically coincide with calm weather conditions to ensure good visibility and safe diving. Due to its depth and potential currents, this site is best suited for advanced divers with appropriate certifications and experience in wreck diving and deep dives.
