This dive site, North Rock, is located approximately seven miles east of Bermuda and considered a treasured part of the island’s reef system. It offers exceptional diving and snorkeling opportunities with depths ranging from 3 to 30 feet. The area boasts some of the most beautiful coarse pink sand found on the platform. Rich history surrounds North Rock, with numerous shipwrecks resting on or near the reef. A prominent black over yellow banded beacon, a Northern Cardinal Mark, stands tall atop the structure – reaching an impressive 70 feet in height. The tower is marked with the words NORTH ROCK in white against a black background, and its light flashes in a group of four (4) every twenty seconds. This distinctive beacon is visible from twelve miles away and serves as a radar reflector. Visibility in the crystal-clear waters is excellent, allowing divers to explore vibrant coral reefs and marvel at massive purple sea fans teeming with colorful fish.
