About this dive site

This dive site, Hon Tai, is a small, uninhabited island located within the Cham Islands archipelago, just off the central coast of Vietnam near Hoi An. It's renowned for its shallow, vibrant reef that fringes the island's northern shore. Navigation is straightforward, typically following the reef line, making it ideal for relaxed exploration.

Divers and snorkelers can expect to encounter a rich variety of marine life including colourful crinoids, diverse hard and soft corals, large giant clams, and numerous starfish. The reef is home to a wide array of tropical fish, creating a lively underwater ecosystem.

The best time to visit Hon Tai is generally during the dry season (roughly March to September) when sea conditions are calm and visibility is optimal. Its shallow depths make it particularly suitable for beginner divers and an excellent spot for freedivers and snorkelers seeking an accessible and beautiful reef experience.
