This dive site explores the remnants of a WWII-era B-29 aircraft, accessible only by boat. The plane itself is not largely intact, with divers primarily finding a few engine parts and some fusel arches scattered on the sandy bottom. Navigation is relatively straightforward, focusing on the scattered debris field. The site offers a glimpse into history, albeit with limited structural integrity of the wreck, at a maximum depth of 25 meters.
The sandy bottom, interspersed with some rocks, is home to a variety of marine life. Divers can expect to encounter lionfish, rays, and occasionally tarpon. Small fish species are also present around the wreck components. Notably, there is no coral or significant flora at this site.
While no specific best time to visit is mentioned, the year-round warm waters of Puerto Rico generally allow for diving. Nitrox is highly recommended for this site, particularly to maximize bottom time and enjoyment given the maximum depth. Due to the depth and wreck nature, this site is primarily suited for scuba divers.
