This dive site, Hidayet Koyu, is a sheltered bay in Türkiye offering a beautiful underwater landscape both above and below the surface. The bay features shallow, easily navigable seagrass meadows teeming with life, perfect for beginners and snorkelers. East of a small cape, the seabed slopes gently down to a maximum depth of 21 meters, providing opportunities for slightly more experienced divers.
The marine life is abundant and varied. Seagrass meadows host a variety of small creatures. In the deeper areas, one can expect to encounter moray eels, larger fish like grouper, and other species like lionfish, Mediterranean damselfish, bonito, pufferfish, and cornette fish. Sea turtles are also a notable presence in the area.
The best time to visit Hidayet Koyu is during the warmer months (May to October), when the water temperature is most pleasant and visibility is typically at its best. Calm conditions are more prevalent during these times. For freediving, it is recommended to enter the water during the early morning or late afternoon to avoid intense sunlight and midday heat. Remember to always dive within your limits and respect the marine environment.
