This dive site, Fener, is located near Kaş, Türkiye, and is known for its diverse marine life and the presence of an Ottoman wreck. The wreck, situated at a slightly deeper depth (23 meters, beyond the site's usual 17m max), features a visible wooden spine and other artifacts. Navigating underwater involves exploring the area eastwards to discover the wreck. The rest of the site offers a shallower, more varied experience.
Marine life at Fener is abundant and includes sea turtles, various grouper species, lionfish, Mediterranean damselfish, bonito, pufferfish, and cornette fish. The wreck itself might also harbor smaller invertebrates and fish that have made it their home.
The best time to visit Fener is likely during the warmer months (May to October) when the water is clear and calm, and visibility is at its best. For freedivers, the shallower sections of the site are perfectly suitable, while scuba divers can explore the deeper reaches and the wreck. Always check local weather conditions and dive with a buddy.
