This dive site is the MV Suntud Samut 4, a 79-meter long and 12-meter wide container ship that tragically sank on December 18, 2022, due to severe wind and waves. Resting at a maximum depth of 26 meters with an average depth of 13 meters, this relatively new wreck offers a captivating underwater exploration, rapidly transforming into an artificial reef.
The MV Suntud Samut 4 is teeming with an impressive array of marine life. Divers can expect to encounter large groupers, schools of yellowfin and black barracuda, snappers, and batfish. The wreck is also home to countless schools of smaller fish, providing a vibrant and dynamic ecosystem.
The best time to visit this dive site would likely align with Thailand's dry season, typically from November to May, offering calmer seas and potentially better visibility. Divers should be mindful of potential variable currents around the wreck.
