This dive site, Wassersportzentrum Tiefenbrunnen, is a well-known practice location on Lake Zurich. Divers access the site via convenient stairs, leading to a gently sloping shoreline. Underwater, navigation is straightforward, with a variety of unique man-made attractions strategically placed to enhance the diving experience. These include an old suction nozzle at 20-25 meters, a diving bell, a Züri-Leu statue, an old bathtub, and a collection of garden gnomes, providing interesting points of interest and a fun underwater playground.
The aquatic life here is typical for a freshwater lake environment. Divers can expect to encounter schools of Eglischulen (perch), various crayfish, and sunfish. Larger fish like pike are also present. The site is home to diverse aquatic plants, providing hiding spots for smaller creatures. In the summer months, fish often congregate and hide under the jetty located on the left-hand side, offering a reliable spot for marine observation.
The site is suitable for diving year-round, with summer offering warmer water temperatures and more active fish life, particularly under the jetty. Its maximum depth of 14 meters and average depth of 7 meters make it an excellent location for beginner divers to practice skills and for freedivers to explore. The gentle slope and multiple attractions ensure an engaging experience for all, making it a valuable resource for local dive training and leisure.
