This dive site, known as Ameisenecke or Ant Harrows/Duck Harrows, is a well-structured freshwater location in Switzerland. Divers can explore two distinct canyons flanking a prominent steep wall. Entry is convenient via two ramps. The site's topography allows for varied dive profiles, exploring both shallow plains and deeper dramatic structures.
The ecosystem here supports a variety of freshwater fish. The shallow seaweed-covered plain is home to numerous pike, eglis (perch), alets, and bullheads. Descending deeper into the canyons and along the steep face, divers will frequently encounter burbots. The abundant aquatic vegetation provides shelter and food for these species.
The site is suitable for all levels, with shallow areas ideal for beginners and snorkelers, while the deeper walls and canyons cater to more experienced divers and freedivers. Lake diving in Switzerland is typically best during warmer months (spring to autumn) for comfort, though clearer visibility can occur in colder periods. Divers should be prepared for potential cold water, especially at deeper depths.
