This dive site is a rocky and sandy reef located off Saladar Beach in Jandía, Fuerteventura. The underwater topography is varied, offering a mix of rocky outcrops, sandy patches, and potentially some small crevices to explore. Navigation is straightforward, with the reef generally following a shallow incline. There's no specific historical information about the site available, but its location makes it accessible to divers and snorkelers of all experience levels.
The marine life here is diverse, although it may not be exceptionally abundant in terms of large pelagic species. Expect to see various species of reef fish, including colourful wrasses, damselfish, and potentially some larger groupers. There may also be sightings of crustaceans and smaller invertebrates hiding amongst the rocks and in the sandy areas. The presence of macro life and smaller fish suggests good opportunities for macro photography.
The best time to visit is during the warmer months (spring and summer), when visibility tends to be highest and water temperatures are more pleasant. For divers, a basic certification is sufficient. For freedivers, the shallower sections of the reef are ideal for practicing breath-hold dives, while caution should be used further away from the shore due to increasing depth. Generally, conditions are calm, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced divers, however always check weather and current conditions before venturing out.
