This dive site, Playa Los Cristianos, is characterized by its easy sandy entrance and expansive sandy bottom, making it an ideal location for dive training, particularly for beginners. Formerly a fisherman's port, the site holds remnants of its past in the form of 'historic items' scattered across the seabed, which can be points of interest. Navigation is generally straightforward due to the shallow, open sandy expanse.
While the general marine life population, particularly fish, is noted as not being abundant, the historic items on the bottom act as attractors for specific, larger species. Angelsharks, various types of rays, and cuttlefish have been spotted by divers, adding a unique element to the otherwise sandy environment.
The best time to visit this dive site is when focusing on specific skill development, especially low visibility training, as conditions can be challenging. It's perfectly suited for new divers practicing buoyancy and navigation. Freedivers will also find the shallow, calm conditions excellent for breath-hold practice and skill refinement.
