About this dive site

This dive site, known as Pantalanes, features the intriguing remains of old sunken pontoon constructions situated alongside a significant outfall structure. The outfall's supports create an eerie, almost skeletal appearance as they rise from the seafloor, forming an endless pipe that vanishes into the deeper water. This unique artificial reef provides a fascinating environment for exploration, offering interesting swim-throughs and sheltered spots created by the submerged structures and pipe supports.

The site is teeming with marine life, making it a particularly vibrant location for observation. Divers can easily spot a variety of species including dentex, octopuses, scorpion fish, and squid. During night dives, the biodiversity is amplified, and the phenomenon of water fluorescence adds a magical dimension, revealing hidden colors and patterns among the marine inhabitants.

Pantalanes is a fantastic spot for both day and night dives, though the latter is especially recommended for experiencing the spectacular fluorescence. Its shallow depths make it ideal for beginners, snorkelers, and freedivers alike. Visibility is generally good, enhancing the viewing of the diverse marine ecosystem. It offers unique photographic opportunities due to its distinctive artificial structures and abundant macro life.
