This dive site, known as Clot del Boc or "La fall", is located in the bay of Cala Joncols, Spain. The dive begins along a gradual drop-off from 5 meters to a maximum depth of 21 meters, leading to a remarkable 40-meter-long canyon. Navigation is relatively straightforward, following the drop-off and then exploring the canyon. The dive site's geological features formed naturally over time.
Marine life is diverse and abundant, including groupers, sar (likely sea bream), moray eels, and red coral. Smaller crustaceans and potentially lobsters can be found amongst the rocks, along with various other fish species. Schools of bonito may be visible in the blue water column.
The best time to visit is during the warmer months (May-October) when visibility is typically at its best and marine life is most active. Divers and freedivers should be aware of the canyon's depth and potential for mild currents. Although it's generally a relatively straightforward dive, maintaining proper buoyancy and dive planning is crucial, especially for less experienced divers.
