This dive site is located near Isla del Aire, a short boat ride from Mahon harbor in Menorca, Spain. The dive begins on a large platform, descending to a sandy bottom at 18 meters. From there, divers enter a large cavern that runs beneath a rocky overhang, providing dramatic backlighting. Navigation involves following the cavern's path, which is relatively straightforward but requires proper dive planning and potentially a guide, especially for those less experienced with cavern diving.
The marine life is abundant and varied. Divers can expect to see salemas, two-banded seabream, groupers, barracudas, nudibranchs, moray eels, and congers. The platform area provides opportunities for observing larger fish while the cavern offers excellent macro opportunities.
The best time to visit is likely during the warmer months (May-October) when water temperatures are more comfortable and visibility is typically best. Divers should be comfortable with cavern diving techniques and should carry appropriate lighting. Given the depth and the cavern environment, this dive is not suitable for snorkeling or freediving.
