This dive site, known as Atlantis, offers a truly unique underwater experience. The reef is formed from spectacular columns of volcanic basalt rock, creating an ancient city-like appearance. Millions of years ago, when molten lava cooled and solidified, these multi-sided columns fused together to form this remarkable structure. Many of the original columns have eroded over time, leaving behind ruins resembling a lost civilization. The dive begins anchored on top of the reef, followed by kit up and buddy checks before descending to 16 meters. Divers can then explore further down to depths reaching 24 – 30 meters, often encountering a small cave populated with African Grunts. Vibrant yellow Gorgonias sway in the currents, adding to the stunning underwater scenery. The site is suitable for advanced divers who have recent experience.
