This dive site, Šumaricko jezero, is a local freshwater lake near the Coral diving center in Serbia, primarily serving as a training polygon for divers. As a shallow lake, underwater navigation is generally straightforward, following the natural contours of the lakebed or specific training lines. There is no significant historical background associated with the dive site, beyond its current use as a practical training ground.
The lake is home to common freshwater species such as catfish, trout, and carp. During the summer months, the aquatic environment sees a significant growth of various freshwater vegetation, adding to the underwater scenery.
Given the extremely poor and variable visibility, often as low as 10cm and rarely exceeding 2m, this site is best suited for specific skill development in challenging conditions rather than recreational diving. It's ideal for divers seeking experience in low-visibility environments or for confined water training. There are no particular recreational highlights for general divers or freedivers.
