This dive site is Anse du Grand Cul-de-Sac, a picturesque lagoon located on the northeast of Saint Barthélemy. Characterized by its shallow and calm waters, coupled with exceptional visibility, it stands out as one of the island's premier snorkeling and diving spots. Divers can easily navigate from the beach, beginning their exploration over extensive seagrass meadows before transitioning to a vibrant coral reef.
The seagrass meadows are particularly notable as a favored habitat for green sea turtles, which are frequently observed grazing. Moving towards the reef, divers will encounter a diverse ecosystem of small reef fish, various invertebrate species, and colorful hard and soft corals that contribute to the reef's vibrancy.
Given its calm, shallow conditions, this site is ideal for beginners and perfectly suited for snorkeling and freediving activities. While no specific peak season is mentioned, the generally stable Caribbean climate ensures good diving conditions year-round, with the best visibility often found outside of very windy periods.
