This dive site is located at Galo Resort bay and offers easy access via a ladder, making it ideal for beginners. However, wave conditions at entry can be challenging. The underwater topography is relatively simple, featuring a small cave, a wall suitable for exploration, and an area rich in anemones. Navigation is straightforward, with the main features easily visible from the surface. There's no known significant history or story connected to this particular dive site beyond its location within a national park.
The diverse marine life is a major draw. Divers can expect to encounter groupers, tiger moray eels, sand eels, parrotfish, pufferfish, anemones, and lancet ghost crabs. The national park status contributes to the abundance of fish life compared to other areas.
The best time to visit is likely during the warmer months (spring/summer) when water temperatures are more pleasant and visibility is generally better. For freedivers, the shallow depths and generally calm conditions make this an excellent site. For divers, it's a great introduction to the underwater world of Portugal, offering opportunities for macro and wide-angle photography.
