This dive site, known as Nemo Base, is a unique freshwater dive located in a lake near Giewartów, Poland. Access is gained by turning towards the local church and entering a gate to a 'Palace' where a small fee is paid per car. Underwater, divers can find artificial structures like the 'Lake Monitor' down to 6 meters, beyond which a more barren 'desert' area exists. Platforms provide points of interest for navigation and observation, indicating a managed local dive spot rather than a natural, pristine environment.
The marine life at Nemo Base primarily consists of freshwater species. On the underwater platforms, divers are likely to encounter numerous small perches and fences, suggesting a habitat for smaller fish. The site becomes particularly interesting after dark, as night dives offer the chance to observe crayfish and eels, which are typically more active during these hours.
Nemo Base is suitable for both day and night diving, with night dives offering the best opportunity to spot crayfish and eels. Its shallow maximum depth and calm conditions make it an excellent site for beginner divers and for training purposes. Freedivers and snorkelers will also find the clear, shallow waters and small marine life appealing. It provides a accessible and controlled environment for recreational diving in a Polish freshwater setting.
