About this dive site

This dive site, Baza Nurkowa Honoratka, is a new and interesting flooded lignite pit located in Poland. Originally an open-cast mine, it has transformed into a unique underwater environment. Divers can navigate along its terraced banks, which offer excellent conditions for exploration and make underwater navigation straightforward.

The water body, despite being relatively young, supports a thriving ecosystem. Aquatic vegetation and numerous bushes are present up to approximately 7 meters deep, providing ample hiding spots and food sources. These conditions create a favorable habitat for various fish species, making it a good spot for observing local freshwater marine life.

Visibility here can reach up to 15 meters, offering clear views throughout much of the year, though colder months might offer better clarity. The terraced topography and rich vegetation are highlights for both scuba divers and freedivers. For optimal enjoyment, divers should be prepared for cooler water temperatures typical of inland Polish sites and appreciate the unique freshwater environment.
