This dive site presents the wreck of the Akitsushima, a substantial warship that sank dramatically near the stern. The ship suffered significant damage during its sinking, with only portions of the starboard and bottom sides remaining. The flying boat, which was located on metal tracks at the stern, disappeared entirely. A notable feature is the crane used to lift the seaplane; it lies intact on the sandy seabed and attracts sizable schools of batfish and barracuda. Divers can explore a section of the engine room, offering an impressive view of the four engines and associated machinery. A 3-barreled anti-aircraft gun mounting is also visible at the front of the flying boat's tracks. Penetration into the stern presents an opportunity to examine the crane’s operational gears and mechanisms.
