This dive site presents the wreck of the P.B. Locke, located 3 kilometers off the coast of Port Hope in Lake Ontario. It's approximately an hour’s drive from Scarborough. The site was commemorated with a plaque unveiled on October 23, 2013, recognizing the efforts of various local organizations and individuals involved in its preservation. The wreck is accessible via a boat launch ramp less than fifteen minutes from Port Hope. Divers can explore a rich collection of artifacts including the ship’s bell, block & tackle equipment, galley stoves, dishes, an intact donkey boiler, a port-side anchor, and centreboard boxes – remnants of a bygone era. Sadly, due to accessibility, many of these items have been stolen. The depth of the wreck is 80 feet, with visibility ranging from 10 to 50 feet. The P.B. Locke’s history adds significant interest for recreational divers.
