This dive site is the Humsi wreck, a small dhow located a short boat ride from Kasab harbor in Oman. The wreck lies at a depth of around 10 meters, making it easily accessible to divers of all levels. The shallow, sandy bottom surrounding the 12-meter-long wreck provides easy navigation, and the wreck itself offers plenty of interesting features to explore. The surrounding area is characterized by white sands and large rock boulders, creating a diverse and visually appealing underwater landscape.
Marine life at the Humsi wreck is abundant and diverse. Divers can expect to see a variety of fish species, including moray eels, along with larger animals such as turtles. The site is also known for its rich population of micro marine organisms, such as glass shrimp, making it ideal for macro photography. Coral reefs surrounding the rocks add to the visual appeal and provide habitat for numerous species.
The best time to visit is likely during the cooler months (October to May) when the water is clearer and the weather is more favorable. Because of the shallow depth, this site is suitable for both scuba divers and freedivers. However, always check the weather and current conditions before diving, and remember to maintain a safe distance from any marine life encountered. This is a relatively calm and easy dive, ideal for beginners and those wanting to experience a pleasant underwater adventure.
