This dive site, Bemmelerwaard, is a shore-accessible freshwater location in the Netherlands. Divers must walk approximately 300 meters from the parking area to reach the entry point. The site quickly drops in depth at the entrance, reaching a maximum of 9 meters. The bottom consists mainly of sandy soil, with a notable green strip between 3 and 7 meters offering rich biodiversity. A car wreck is located to the right of the entrance, providing an additional point of interest.
The green strip is teeming with life, especially in spring. Common inhabitants include roaches, gobies, crayfish, and pond snails. Large pikes are also frequently encountered at this site.
The spring season is particularly recommended for visiting Bemmelerwaard, as it offers the highest density of small aquatic life. Its shallow depths and abundant macro subjects make it very suitable for beginner divers, macro photographers, snorkelers, and freedivers. The short walk from the parking should be considered when transporting gear.
