This dive site, Tanjung Kebun, is conveniently located just ten minutes by boat from Juara Jetty, nestled beside Bahai Bay on Tioman Island. It features a gentle slope that gradually leads to deeper sections, characterized by beautiful coral formations and prominent rock pinnacles. The site is known for its easy navigation, making it a comfortable dive for many, and does not have a documented history or specific story beyond its natural attributes.
Divers can expect to encounter a vibrant array of marine life, including many species of Grouper, Snapper, and Sweetlips. The site is particularly abundant with colorful Angelfish and Butterflyfish. It also serves as an important nursery area, indicating the presence of diverse juvenile fish and potentially other small macro life thriving within the healthy coral ecosystems.
The best time to experience Tanjung Kebun is during sunny and calm weather, which enhances visibility and overall diving pleasure. This site is highly recommended for beginner divers due to its easy nature and manageable depths. Freedivers will also find the site appealing, with its average depth of 8 meters and rich marine life close to the surface, offering excellent opportunities for breath-hold diving. Divers should, however, be aware of the potential presence of Crown-of-Thorns starfish (COT), which can impact coral health.
