This dive site, Nayak, is located just a 5-minute boat ride to the southern side of Juara Bay, off Tioman Island. It features a gentle sloping coral reef, starting from shallow depths of 2 meters and extending down to 18 meters, although the maximum recreational depth is typically 14 meters. The site is characterized by large bouldering coral features and interesting shallow-lying rock formations, offering an easy navigation experience along the reef.
Divers can expect to encounter a vibrant array of marine life, including schooling fish, colorful Triggerfish, Parrotfish, Butterflyfish, Angelfish, and Wrasse. The coral garden is rich with various types such as Branching, Boulder, Brain, Plate, and Cabbage coral. Larger marine species like turtles and sharks are also known to frequent the area, adding to the excitement.
The best time to visit Nayak is generally during Tioman Island's dive season, which typically runs from March to November, when conditions are calmest and visibility is at its best. Its shallow average depth and gentle slope make it an excellent spot for both beginner divers and snorkellers alike. Freedivers will also find the varied depths suitable for exploration.
