This dive site is named after the Sardinian mask, Mammuthone, whose profile can be seen on a sheer cliff face descending into the sea. The location offers a calm and scenic diving experience culminating in an opening within the rock – not a true cave – that creates a beautiful display of light and color. Inside this natural feature, divers can encounter ancient Cerianthus sponges, along with various types of lobsters, worms, and crabs. Moving away from the Mammuthone opening, the dive area reveals numerous passages populated by groupers, corvinas, white breams, and parrotfish, leading to a rocky ledge approximately 8 meters down. This ledge presents a sandy seabed where scorpion fish and torpedo fish are often observed. The overall experience promises captivating underwater scenery and diverse marine life.
