This dive site, known as 'la source', is situated south of the well-regarded L’Oursin dive site in Italy. It features a large underwater 'dry area' and is uniquely characterized by a freshwater spring. This spring, while a point of interest, can lead to blurred visibility, particularly further south. A notable highlight is a small cave located on the east side, behind the freshwater spring, which acts as a habitat for diverse marine life.
The cave itself is a vibrant ecosystem, teeming with creatures such as Mostelle (rocklings), various prawns, and lobsters, alongside other crustaceans and typical Mediterranean reef fish. The general topography of the site, with its extensive dry area, also contributes to a rich environment for smaller marine species.
While specific seasonal highlights are not provided, the Mediterranean generally offers good diving conditions from spring through autumn. Divers should be mindful of the potential for reduced visibility caused by the freshwater outflow. The site's varied depths and the presence of the cave make it appealing for both scuba divers and freedivers, with excellent opportunities for macro photography.
