Halik

This dive site, located on the northern side of Gili Trawangan, offers a fantastic diving experience for all skill levels. The Gili Islands are renowned for their vibrant marine life and stunning underwater landscapes, and Halik reef is no exception – often described as an aquarium-like environment. The area features a gentle slope from 5 to 15 meters with several coral bommies creating diverse habitats. In the shallower areas, you’ll find abundant fish such as anthias darting among the corals, alongside larger species like sweetlips, trevallies and surgeonfish. A highlight of this site is the presence of small caves that can provide shelter for juvenile reef sharks. For experienced divers seeking deeper exploration, gullies and canyons descend to 40 meters, offering encounters with larger reef shark populations. Currents tend to be strong at full and new moon phases, making it an ideal dive during these times for a gentle drift. The site is known for its diverse marine life including turtles, reef sharks, humphead parrotfish, snapper and triggerfish.
