This dive site is located in Apra Harbor, a unique location for wreck diving. The Tokai Maru, a Japanese freighter sunk on August 27th, 1943 at 3:23 pm local time during World War II, rests on her port side. It was sunk by the USS Snapper. This is considered an advanced dive site, attracting experienced wreck divers due to its challenging conditions and historical significance. The wreck sits adjacent to the SMS Cormoran, creating a remarkable opportunity to explore two wrecks simultaneously – a rare occurrence where a WWI and WWII vessel make contact. Dive visibility typically ranges from 20 to 60 feet. The maximum depth encountered is approximately 100 feet. It offers a fascinating glimpse into naval history.
