This dive site, the Veronica L Wreck, is a fascinating dive located outside St. George's harbor in Grenada. Originally sunk accidentally in the early 1980s, it was later intentionally relocated in 2006 to accommodate a cruise ship dock. Now resting at a depth of 15 meters (45 feet), the 30-meter (100-foot) wreck is easily navigable due to its relatively shallow depth and the ample space surrounding it. The wreck itself is covered in marine growth, creating a complex and interesting environment for divers to explore.
The abundant marine life thriving on and around the Veronica L Wreck is a major draw for divers. Schools of chromis fish are frequently seen, and the wreck provides habitat for a wealth of flora and fauna, including frogfish and seahorses. A wide variety of other fish and invertebrates make their home in and around the wreckage.
The best time to visit the Veronica L Wreck is during Grenada's dry season (January to April), when visibility is typically at its best and the water is calm. The site is suitable for both scuba divers and freediving, with its relatively shallow depth and gentle currents making it accessible to a wide range of experience levels. However, divers should always exercise caution, and appropriate dive training and safety protocols should be followed.
