This dive site is the Anina, a flat-bottomed inter-island container cargo vessel that now rests on its starboard side at a maximum depth of 30 meters (106 ft). It sank in August 2019 after sitting at anchor for years, transforming into a vibrant artificial reef. Divers can explore the vessel's structure, which provides numerous hiding spots and interesting features.
The Anina is teeming with marine life, including barracuda, mackerel, Queen Angelfish, French Angelfish, and Grey Angelfish. Divers may also encounter occasional groupers and squid. The wreck is particularly noted for its abundance of Fireworms and Blennies, offering excellent opportunities for macro photography.
The best time to visit Grenada for diving is generally from December to May, during the dry season, when water conditions are typically calm and visibility is excellent. For divers, exploring the Anina offers a fascinating wreck experience. Freedivers can also enjoy the site, particularly the shallower sections, although the deeper parts of the wreck require advanced breath-hold skills.
